Akwaaba Mansion Wedding | Marie & Jean
Destination Wedding, Brooklyn NY
Marie and Jean’s Akwaaba Mansion wedding in Brooklyn New York was a remarkable celebration. With family and friends present, the lovely couple exchanged wedding vows in the shaded garden courtyard of this restored villa. The Mansion is an 1890’s era Italianate villa that has been meticulously restored. It features, exquisite architectural details and ornate fireplaces. This bed and breakfast is growing in popularity as a wedding ceremony and reception location for couples wanting a unique experience in more culturally aware surroundings. Located in the historic Stuyvesant Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, the mansion was close to home for the New Yorkers.
Like true city folks the wedding party strolled the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood for photo opportunities. One of their favorites is that of the entire party decked out in purple and gray on the street corner next to a brownstone. The most New York of all the images, would be the final photo in this collection. A sepia toned photograph of the couple as they walk back to their wedding reception, her sneakers showing under her wedding dress.
After a sumptuous dinner they partied late into the night to house, reggae and hip hop. With their Akwaaba Mansion wedding day activities complete, the couple recovered on the southern Caribbean island paradise of Aruba for their much-anticipated honeymoon.
