Atlanta Falcons Fan Engagement | Sheveland & Antonio

For these uber Atlanta Falcons fans, having their engagement session around the nesting place of the beloved team was non-negotiable. From our first consultation, they made sure I knew what big fans they were.  So we put some thought into, and these photos are the fruits of our efforts.

We started the engagement portraits at the imposing Mercedes Benz stadium just west of downtown Atlanta. The couple decked out in their red and black Falcons jerseys and carrying a football as a prop. It was clear from the get-go that PDA was not going to be a problem. The late evening traffic and onlookers did not deter them. A change of attire and we headed to everchanging colorful murals at Ponce City Market and North Avenue intersection of the Atlanta Beltline.
We ended the night with some twilight power portraits using Mercedes Benz stadium and the Atlanta skyline as backdrops for their engagement pictures.
Later this fall, these lovebirds who had a chance meeting at work will say their “I dos.” And like the surprise engagement, I am sure there will be tears. Thanks for choosing our team and we look forward to capturing the start of this chapter of your lives together.

Atlanta Woodruff Park Engagement

Kara and Corey | Atlanta Woodruff Park Engagement

For Kara and Corey’s engagement photography session we met in the heart of downtown Atlanta Woodruff Park. However, to start at the beginning, we will need to go way back to how the effervescent Kara met her charming prince back in the days of MySpace.
Fall engagement session in downtown Atlanta
Kara and Corey’s sister worked at the same place and quickly became good friends. An invitation to her friend’s house for his surprise birthday party was how our couple first met. Fast forward a few more months, numerous visits to her friends home and many stolen glances at Corey. He decided to step up to take the risk of rejection via a Myspace message. That risk paid off, and today he is finalizing his wedding plans to the woman of his dreams.

Ten years and a housewarming proposal

After ten years of dating the quality inspector was sure beyond doubt of the quality of the woman, he’s been dating. There as they celebrated at a housewarming party, he quietly asked her dad for Kara’s hand in marriage. Dad approved, and after opening the gifts now, it was her turn. Corey gave a thank you speech that turned into something celebrating relationships. Then to everyone’s surprise, except him and her dad he got down on one knee in front of their friends and family and asked for Kara’s hand in marriage. “Yes,” she managed to whisper fighting back the tears of joy as her emotions got the better of her.

After the energy surrounding the first part of our engagement session at Woodruff Park, we headed for the rooftop the Mattress Factory on the edge of downtown. Kara slipped into a sleeveless floor length red dress to compliment Corey’s urban chic look. The result of their efforts are sensuous, beautiful images that capture their chemistry. We will document more of their love as they exchange their wedding vows this summer. Congratulations to our charming couple and thanks for choosing Jaxon.

Ponce City Market Engagement

Ponce City Market Engagement Session | Natasha and Yolanda

From our first meeting, Natasha, Yolanda and I connected. They shared their love story and the need for a photographer that can capture their style.
When I asked why they chose Jaxon Photography their reply “We feel comfortable and relaxed with you, and we love the stories you tell.” That led us to the engagement photography session that started at the murals under the North Avenue underpass of the eastern trail of the Beltline in Atlanta at Ponce City Market.  We chose this spot because of the vibrant colors in the paintings and the soft forgiving late evening light.

Cinco de Mayo and a Tempe Beach Park proposal
Our couple first met in 2010 lost touch and three years later while celebrating Cinco de Mayo reconnected and have been inseparable since then.
Last spring while on a business trip in Arizona, Yolanda planned a surprise trip of her own and joined Natasha. The dust hardly settled Natasha received another surprise, and the couple was enjoying a sunset stroll at Tempe Beach Park. Yoland is a very self-assured individual; one need not be in her presence long before noticing.  However on this evening as she requested Natasha’s hand in marriage, she was visibly nervous. Somehow she finally made it to the question, and of course, Natasha fighting through her emotions managed a yes.

We had a wonderful time taking these beautiful images, and we look forward to recording the rest of the story on their wedding day. We know you had many options, thanks for choosing Jaxon Photography.

Jenn & Chris | Old Fourth Ward Park Engagement

We met Jenn and Chris on a warm summer evening at the Old Fourth Ward Park in northeast Atlanta for their engagement photography portrait session.

Little blue box and a knee

For the entrepreneur and the software engineer, it took a minute for the sparks to start flying. But with patience and an assist from friends at church, a connection was finally made. Chris’ proposal was all about Jenn he wanted it as intimate as possible. Jenn had her first gathering of the year with Beauty in Me, her non-profit organization. After which, they gathered at her mother’s house. In a private room away from everyone and the excitement of the day, Chris praised Jenn on how well she had conducted the meeting. The affirming words and expressions from his heart were a little shocking and a bit overwhelming to Jenn. She felt something was different at this moment.

Surprised, she vocalized many of her thoughts! “Oh my God Chris,” “Aww you’re so sweet,” “look at you”! Of course, she said yes! Her last words were, “I have to go get my nails done now”!

Today her nails were done, and the author was ready to cozy up to Chris as we captured some romantic images. We wrapped up our session around the lake at Old Fourth Ward Park and headed to Centennial Olympic Park. For this part of their portrait session, our beautiful couple stepped it up a couple of notches. She looked resplendent in a floor-length sleeveless red dress, and Chris was dashing in a gray suit, with opened collar black shirt. We are so looking forward to capturing their wedding day story this spring. Thanks for choosing Jaxon Photography to be part of your wedding day.Centennial Olympic Park with Ferris wheel as backdrop
